Weighted Kettlebells and Fitness
Far from a recent innovation is the pair of kettlebells. To tell you the truth, many place their creation in the early eighteenth century. That said, would you be surprised to hear that it is now one of the most fashionable fitness routines globally? And why is this the case? The Russian kettlebell has just earned an incredible increase in recognition. After all, why not?
You only need the weights and anyone can begin using these simple moves. Obviously, the more advanced exercise routines aren’t as straightforward. We recommend that you study the easy routines prior to going for the more difficult techniques. Whatever else you do, with these kettlebells as with all weights, you have to be certain you order the best weight for your body. Thankfully, using kettlebell exercises, the weights used are surprisingly small. For female kettlebell users, an 18lb Russian kettlebell can be more than required to start with, while men should choose the 35lb size. This may seem unlikely, but it is because the benefits of a kettlebell workout are related far more closely to the motions conducted than the actual weights that are being lifted. An educational aid (like a DVD or book) is a wise purchase at the beginning, making sure that you’ve got the movements involved perfect. The starting technique to master with the kettlebell must be the double-handed swing. As the origin point of a great many exercises, this must be studied in the early going - and it looks simpler than it is. Everything should ideally glide freely, with no harsh jerks. Remember to confirm your lift doesn’t come from your spine: it’s easier to use your hips.
After you have perfected this maneuver, you can attempt a few of the more complex motions. Shake up your exercise regime by adjusting routines and reps, backed perhaps by different varieties of music. Perhaps another set can be incorporated once you know what you’re doing, and to change matters up thoroughly you could even vary the weights involved. Of course, you won’t want your routine to lose its effect, and these suggestions help to circumvent the issue. Don’t think, though, that a bulkier body and stronger muscles lie ahead if all you’re deploying is the kettlebells, mind you. Because, after all, these Russian kettlebell workouts were intended only to raise your all-round health level and help you lose weight and improve tone. We should advocate folding a Russian kettlebell session into your broader exercise regime. How regularly you pick up the kettlebells is completely at your discretion. With only one or two sessions each week it’s easy to support your baseline fitness levels. And if you increase to five you’re certain to burn off your fat at a good pace…
