Asserting Who You Are with Women’s Human Hair Wigs
I never imagined the indestructible Chandra Sharp, my life-long soul mate, could wear lace front wigs. Her iconic hair and fashion flowed in sync with her personality. Get this. She will be eternally celebrated for her style. Not many in town think to notice that she confidently masks her medical hair loss under lace front wigs. Guess it’s no secret anymore.
As blossoming ladies in high school, we regularly took turns winning Miss “SCH” four years running. Then her medical hair loss took effect and she went bald. I recommended some lace wigs. Whatever, she shrugged it off. She aggressively unveiled her bald-headed look.
Appearing at her fiance’s roller hockey tournament, we heckled until her beau purposefully threw the ball (or however you say it) into the stands. Such a sport, she reached out for the thing and her bandana flew right off, uncovering her shiny head. Like nothing happened, she walked over and delivered it into the goal. Attitude, did I mention she’s got it?
Of course, who can be invincible at all times? Not too long after we got together for a “Gilmore Girls” binge, when she very sincerely confided that she prefers to make do with a shorn head as a statement. She loved her old hair so much she can’t even think about women’s medical wigs, secretly acknowledging she wanted one. Suddenly she the punk changed the subject and requested that I it was silly. I thought “oh, well.”
I couldn’t drop it. That night, I talked about settling the wig issue. Finally we both arrived at the obvious conclusion: we’ll think of wigs as fashion, and we love fashion. So I’m getting one too!
We had a great time, floored by the wide selection of hair colors, textures and styles. She didn’t realize that human hair wigs were vital to fashion for a lot of people. These wigs were exactly what she needed. Personally, I built a delightfully modern set of outfits to match our wigs. We stand together, but you knew that already. The other day she sent me her thanks for her human hand-crafted human hair wig, and said it fosters a lost identity for many occasions. It’s encouraging to watch my best friend strut her stuff like never before. We both are.
